Meet Linda Alice Dewey,
author & publisher of “Aaron’s Crossing”
at GTWoman’s Network Nite.
Q. How did you get into writing?
A. I used to do stream-of-consciousness writing when I had a problem I couldn’t figure out, and it would work itself out as I wrote. I’ve also written music since high school. I even wrote and produced jingles for radio and TV for awhile. In school, I won a few contests, but never really considered myself a “writer” or “author” until this experience cam along, begging to be written.
Q. How are you marketing your book?
A. We decided to combine the book with my musical talents, created a “musical readers’ theatre” that we performed at various venues. We have also marketed to bookstores and to the media, and it’s paying off. We were reviewed in The Detroit Free Press. That was huge, since the reviewer gets 10,000 books a year, and only does one a week. So we’re going from local to state to region, then national. We’re getting ready for a second printing right now.
